Darran Jennings

Darran is a vet by training and a former practice owner, now part of the central VetThing team. Having built, bought, and sold practices himself, he understands first-hand what it feels like to be on both sides of a transaction.

Darran previously built and led a 34-site veterinary group, including both first-opinion and referral practices, which was sold in 2017. He later became a co-owner of Arvonia Vets in Cheltenham, helping to grow the practice before it became the founding practice of VetThing.

Within VetThing, Darran supports practice owners through initial discussions, and into life within the group. His focus is on making sure the process is clear, and values-led — respecting local identity, culture, and legacy.

A key part of the VetThing approach is alignment. Sellers and key team members become shareholders in the group, so everyone owns a small piece of every practice. It’s a model built on shared success, long-term thinking, and people who genuinely care about the profession — a fresh and new approach that Darran embraces wholeheartedly.
