About this Policy

This policy explains how the veterinary practices within the VetThing Group (collectively "the Clinics") handle your personal data. Each clinic is a separate legal entity and acts as the "Data Controller" for the patients it treats. Data We Collect

Client Data: Name, address, phone number, email, and payment details.

Pet Data: Medical history, vaccination records, insurance policy numbers, and microchip details.

Why We Use Your Data

Contractual Necessity: To provide veterinary care, process payments, and manage your account.

Legal Obligation: To comply with Veterinary Medicines Regulations (tracking prescriptions) and RCVS standards.

Legitimate Interest: To send clinical reminders (e.g., booster alerts) and for internal group management and auditing by our parent company, VetThing Limited.

Data Sharing

We share data with third parties only when necessary for your pet's care or group operations:

Diagnostic Labs & Referral Centers: To provide specialist care.

Insurance Companies: To process your claims.

Intra-Group Sharing: Data is shared with VetThing/Vetopia head office for financial auditing, business analysis, and centralized administrative support.

Data Retention

In accordance with RCVS guidelines and UK law, we generally retain clinical and financial records for a minimum of 7 years after your last visit.
