VetThing is one of the fastest-growing veterinary group, built on a simple idea: when vets recognise something in each other’s work that only the profession truly understands — “it’s a vet thing.” Launched in November 2025 under the leadership of vet-turned-founder Ben Hanning MRCVS, VetThing is majority-owned by the veterinary professionals who work within it, and it is scaling fast, now home to 13 clinics and counting. We’re backed by Vetopia, the third-largest pan-European veterinary group, spanning eight country-specific brands and 220+ clinics across nine countries. That means UK-level speed and start-up energy, with established European infrastructure behind it.

We are seeking a highly organised Integration Coordinator to manage the end-to-end integration of practices joining VetThing through acquisition. From deal set-up to post-completion, you will make sure every step is delivered, recorded and handed over on time, so that new practices join smoothly and with no gaps in registration, insurance or compliance.

This is a pivotal role in a growing team. You will be the day-to-day contact for sellers and practice teams through integration, working closely with our M&A deal leads, central functions, external advisers and colleagues across the Vetopia group. Integration follows the Vetopia Onboarding Guide and M&A Playbook, adapted for UK requirements, and you will help us refine our approach as we scale. You will also support wider group operational projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Deal integration coordination. Coordinate each acquisition from deal set-up to post-completion, acting as day-to-day contact for sellers and practice teams and managing introductions to central functions and providers, including Legal, Finance, Commercial, HR, Health & Safety, IT and insurers.
  • Completion, regulatory and insurance changes.
Deliver day-of-completion changes with the RCVS, PSS, VDS and insurance brokers, and manage UK-specific steps including RCVS premises registration, PSS accreditation transfer, TUPE and insurance transfer.
  • Tracking and reporting. Maintain integration trackers, directories and SharePoint records, prepare updates for weekly onboarding meetings, and support sign-off, evaluation and reporting.
  • CMA compliance. Ensure relevant Competition and Markets Authority requirements are completed as part of each integration.
  • Group operational projects. Support group-wide initiatives such as Health & Safety, our One-PMS rollout, IT provider onboarding and PSS compliance, coordinating trackers, meetings, actions and practice-level rollout logistics.
  • Continuous improvement. Feed lessons learned back into the integration checklist and templates, and share knowledge with UK and European colleagues.

Person specification

Essential:
  • Experience in UK veterinary practice or another regulated, multi-site business
  • Knowledge of RCVS, PSS or VMD requirements
  • Experience of M&A, post-acquisition integration or complex onboarding processes
  • Awareness of TUPE, insurance or commercial property processes
  • Proven ability to coordinate projects with multiple workstreams and tight deadlines
  • Exceptional organisation and attention to detail, closing every task out fully
  • Clear, professional communication with practice owners, advisers and regulators
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and tracker or project management tools
  • Discretion with confidential deal and personal information, in line with GDPR
  • Able to travel to practices
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, business integration or regulatory compliance, including CMA requirements
  • An understanding of veterinary practice economics, client acquisition and retention
  • Experience working within a group or international organisation
